I am so ready for spring. I was in Florida for a few days and the 80-degree weather was wonderful, but made me even more anxious for winter to end.
The birds have been pretty consistent. The little wren in particular; she seems to be spending a lot of time under the dead bushy plants. So much so that I haven’t bothered to clean them up since she seems to like them. She “knocks” on the window many mornings as if to remind me to put out the peanuts.
Today a cardinal was back so that was nice – I haven’t seem them often this winter. The red-bellied woodpecker is getting over his timidness. All the other regulars are the same – the tufted titmice, white-breasted nuthatches, sparrows (they must have found another dining option because they aren’t as plentiful as a few months ago), and chickadees. I don’t seem all of them often but on weekends it’s nice to have them coming by.
